To those who wanted the Defense Production Act used against private companies (3M) to secure supplies (N95 masks) for Americans (at the expense of others), this is what that looks like.
Sounds nice in theory, but ugly in practice.
Dancing TikTok nurses switched from “face masks don’t work” to “wear a face covering” without missing a beat. I can’t say I’m surprised.
3M wanted the Defense Production Act used against them, so that when they stop providing N95 masks to other countries like Canada, they can shift the blame onto the US government.

This entire time while medical professionals were complaining about people buying N95 respirators to protect themselves (even outright lying about efficacy), they have hospitals “hoarding” ventilators. I love it.
