Taliban captured Bamyan, the twenty-ninth provincial capital to fall.
It was a non-eventful transfer of power. Bamyan is part of Hazarajan, and as was the case with Daykundi, was avoided until now due to fears of persecution and historical destruction. The Taliban in this area are Hazaras themselves, so who knows.
Bamyan was the home of the Buddhas of Bamiyan until 2001 when the Taliban blew them up the last time they came to power. May the Taliban resist the urge to blow up whatever rubble remained from their last act of intelligence.
