Taliban captured Sheberghan, Jawzjan, the second provincial capital to fall.
This one I expected, given that Kabul abandoned the province to Dostum’s militia, and then abandoned Dostum’s son. The kid had no chance.

From Zaranj and Lashkargah, the Taliban learned they need to capture airfields.
Taliban captured one of Dostum’s residences in Jawzjan, possibly his main residence. Many American dollars disappeared here.
I’m knee deep in Afghanistan, and though I’m not posting about it, it hasn’t gone unnoticed that violence in Syria is still increasing, and that Iran is promising big things.
WHO will need to change it’s definition for herd immunity again, and even this is being kind given vaccinated hospitalization numbers.
34.9% of hospitalized in England had two doses of COVID vaccine, another 10% had a single dose of COVID vaccine, per Public Health England. To be fair, that was the AstraZeneca vaccine, which we know was a garbage vaccine, and doesn’t necessarily reflect on Pfizer or Moderna. The Israeli data is more relevant here.
What vaccines can’t do anymore is prevent transmission. Lol, morons.
The Biden strategy is to deprive the Taliban of the attention they seek, to ignore them until they say they’re sorry. Unfortunately for Biden, they’re receiving plenty of international legitimacy without him.
Turkmenistan is under Turkish influence, and Turkey has access into Turkmenistan and Afghanistan through Azerbaijan. Turkey has made it a habit to involve itself in Russian interests, as they did in Syria, and as a NATO member has every incentive to do so here.
