Many progressives who griped about warlords for over the past 20 years have now become their most ardent supporters, almost as if it was never about them being warlords, but about them destroying their precious communist system in the late 70s.

Police chief for Lashkargah, Helmand, district one, surrendered to the Taliban a day or two ago after Taliban threatened his family. Not exactly a headline, since surrenders are commonplace.
It’s now reported that he’s identifying police officers, members of ANDSF, and government employees to the Taliban.
