Hundreds of thousands of Afghans died in the twenty year NATO invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, double that if you count poverty directly caused by the war which could have been avoided, easily more than the 2,977 that died on 9/11.
This theft of Afghan funds won’t be forgotten and will be repaid by the US in one way or another. This was a dumb move by Biden, to whom $3.5B is nothing, it’s all downside, no upside.
