The Antonov-225, the largest plane in the world before it was destroyed, was captured intact during the Battle of Antonov Airport when Russian forces captured the airport, and remained intact until Russian forces evacuated the airport again. It was not destroyed during the battle.

Ukrainian artillery striking the airport after Russian forces have evacuated, both the plane and Russian equipment are destroyed.

I guess this explains why they struggled to confirm the news of the plane’s destruction.
