In 2020, I evaluated and posted election day statistics to determine who is winning and who is losing. That worked on election day, but two weeks later all those gains were reversed as the never-ending supply of urban magic midnight ballots trickled in.
As was the case with the 2021 Youngkin race, this year I’m looking at which counties count the fastest, and which counties count the slowest.
I advise rural counties to sit on ballots and let urban counties finish counting first, they can then make up the difference as needed. When dealing with a never-ending supply of urban magic midnight ballots, there’s no benefit to finishing the count first.
