Leanne Tweeden, the woman accusing Al Franken of sexual harassment, voted twice for George W. Bush. She knew Franken was a crude clown from SNL and still agreed to work with him. They were in a comedic skit together that she consented to. She even met her husband at a USO tour, suggesting that she was no stranger to flirting on USO tours.
“Franken’s response: “I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leanne. As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.””
He denies the allegations, but still apologies for it because he’s a whipped idiot.
I disagree with almost all of Franken’s politics, but from the liberal perspective, Franken has done more for women and minorities than most women and minorities have done for themselves.
Stop feeding this monster where you think it’s OK for people to step down, resign, or disappear over unsubstantiated “allegations” decades after the fact.
We have no idea how Tweeden felt “at the time”. She did not report it to the USO, let alone file a police report. If this was so important to Tweeden, she should have spoken up in 2006, and not during a time when sexual harassment “allegations” have become politically weaponized.
