IEA Ministry of Education announced 7191 teacher openings across 20 province of which 2083 or 29% are female teaching positions.
Female positions as a percentage of total are higher in some provinces (Logar, 75.6%) and lower in other provinces (Zabul, 7.1%). This is likely due to a combination of more men already being employed and the female teaching gap needing to be made up in some provinces as well as communities not wanting to send their girls to school necessitating less of a need for female teachers in other provinces.
The provinces not mentioned (Herat, Farah, Ghor, Badghis, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, and Kabul) were announced separately last month. Total numbers were given (6996 total vs. 2777 female ex-Kabul, 1893 total for Kabul), but no breakdown by male vs. female per province was provided.
