Prisoners held in Ghazni city prison were also freed by Taliban.
I find this debate annoying and would rather focus on what’s happening on the ground in Afghanistan, but have to respond.

It’s nonsense. The deal was contingent on the Taliban not making Trump look bad, and the moment the drama started when Taliban were looting Humvees in outposts, Democrats would have bitched about Orange Cheeto Hitler genociding Afghanistan, then Trump would have ripped up the deal himself like he did the Iran deal and dropped 50 MOABS on the Taliban and Qasem Soleimani’d one of their Doha negotiators while they were still in distant outposts to force them back to the negotiating table. That’s not even getting into Biden sabotaging the deal, causing the Taliban to go nuts. In any event, Biden is the president now, that’s why Democrats are so quiet now, since they don’t have Mango Mussolini to blame anymore. Too bad.
What is true though is that unlike the Democrats who made promises to Ghani and then bailed out, Trump wouldn’t have done anything for Ghani, might even have assassinated that little bitch by now.

To those sharing this map on Instagram, you should all know that this map is extremely outdated (weird even because Faryab districts fell before Herat districts), and if this was all it was, you wouldn’t be talking about it. It’s really not that much work to look up the latest map, take a screenshot, and post that instead.
Biden didn’t drop any bombs when it could have made a difference, with no civilian casualties on abandoned outposts, Humvees, weapons, and ammo, at a time when the Taliban were still in rural districts and well before they reached the cities.
Then when he finally did start bombing, he did so on populated cities, which at that point only incentivized the Taliban to rush the cities, since that was the most opportune place to hide from airstrikes.
What can I say, this is what they wanted.

Afghan government forces abandoning the western part of Kandahar city in broad daylight with residents watching.
The caption says they are escaping the city, but I believe that’s incorrect. The Taliban and government forces reached a settlement over the western part of the city where the Sarpoza prison is located, which was handed over to the Taliban, but government forces have not yet abandoned the city entirely.
